SDSC team receives FSU/AWS Research Acceleration Fund award

Mehak Sachdeva, alongside co-PIs A. Stewart Fotheringham and Mason Mathews, has been awarded a 2025-2026 FSU/AWS Research Acceleration Fund grant, which includes $20,000 in AWS cloud computing credits.

Their project, "Disentangling Sorting from Socialization: A Longitudinal Spatial Analysis of the American Electorate," will support large-scale spatial computation and machine learning workflows examining how residential mobility and neighborhood context shape political outcomes across the United States.

The award will help the team scale computationally intensive analyses and advance SDSC research at the intersection of spatial data science, political behavior, and national voter dynamics.
